Bluetooth 5.3

 Bluetooth 5.3 is an advanced version of the Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) standard, officially released by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) in July 2021. It builds upon previous versions by enhancing power efficiency, security, and performance, making it highly suitable for modern wireless devices like wearables, smart home gadgets, and audio accessories.

One of the most important features in Bluetooth 5.3 is Connection Subrating, which allows devices to reduce communication latency and save power during active connections. This is particularly useful for devices that frequently switch between active and idle states, such as wireless earbuds or fitness trackers. The result is quicker reconnections and less battery drain.

Another significant improvement is Periodic Advertising Enhancement, which allows a receiving device to filter out unwanted data from periodic broadcasts. This means less processing and energy consumption, which is ideal for devices like beacons, smart sensors, and other IoT applications that rely on periodic data transmission.

Bluetooth 5.3 also includes Channel Classification Enhancement, which improves the selection of communication channels based on interference. Although LE Audio was introduced in Bluetooth 5.2, Bluetooth 5.3 enhances its performance by providing better connection management and power optimization. LE Audio supports features like the LC3 codec for high-quality audio at lower bitrates and multi-stream audio, allowing seamless stereo audio in true wireless earbuds and improved support for hearing aids.
